General Information

1099-K forms are issued annually and are typically mailed to merchants by January 31st each year.

If you need a copy of your 1099-K, please email us at [email protected] with your business name, and we will provide the document as a PDF attachment.

1099-K and American Express Transactions

This section explains how American Express (Amex) transactions are reported on 1099-K forms, depending on how you process Amex payments.

1. American Express Direct Processing

If you process Amex transactions directly with American Express (outside of Valpay):

• American Express will issue a separate 1099-K for those transactions.

• These transactions will not appear on the 1099-K issued by Valpay or any other payment processor.

2. American Express OptBlue (via Valpay)

If you process Amex payments through Valpay using the OptBlue program:

• Your American Express transactions are combined with your Visa, Mastercard, and Discover transactions.

• Valpay will issue a single 1099-K that includes all these card types.

• You will not receive a separate 1099-K from American Express.

How to Determine Your Reporting Method

If you receive deposits directly from American Express, you will get a separate 1099-K from Amex.

If you receive deposits from Valpay for Amex transactions, those are processed through OptBlue, and will be included in the 1099-K issued by Valpay.
