This guide provides an overview of the Valpay and Adyen application process, including the sections involved and the specific information merchants are required to complete. The goal is to provide transparency and help partners understand the full scope of onboarding.
Step 1: Valpay Application Process
The initial application is submitted through Valpay’s system. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). Below is a summary of the application sections and the information collected.
Legal Entity Type
Merchants must select one of the following:
• Organization – Multiple business owners
• Individual – A person without a registered business
• Sole Proprietorship – A single person who owns the business
Company Details
• Legal entity type*
• Legal business name*
• Doing Business As (DBA)*
• Annual GMV (Gross Merchant Volume)*
• Industry code
• Phone number
• Website(s)
• Relationship to software (Net New, ERP only, or ERP + Payments)
• Contact info: First Name*, Last Name*, Email*, Country*, Subsidiary*
Contract Information
• Initial Term*
• Renewal Term*
• Additional recipients (optional)
Discounting & Fee Profiles
• Select or create a fee profile
• Chargeback Fee* (commonly $35)
• ACH Return Fee* (commonly $35)
• Rate Type: Interchange or Flat Rate
• Card Types: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, ACH, EFTPOS, etc.
• Card State: Card Present (CP) or Card Not Present (CNP)
• Additional fees: Cross-border rate, transaction fee, etc.
Store Information
• Store Name*
• Address (auto-completed via map integration):
• Street Address*, City*, State/Province*, Country*, Postal Code*
• Store phone number*
• Settlement time
• Discounting fee profile (can be reused from above)
Business Line Information
• Service: Payment Processing
• Industry code (pre-filled)

Once all information is completed and reviewed, select the “Send Contract” button.
The designated contact will receive an email containing a link to review and agree to the Terms and Conditions. This includes:
• A summary of fees (per card brand)
• Key Terms Summary
• Signature consent language:
“I, [First Name Last Name], authorize [Subsidiary] to make any business or personal credit inquiries they consider necessary to review the acceptance and continuation of this Agreement.”
Upon agreement, the merchant receives a signed copy via email and a link to begin Adyen-hosted onboarding.
Step 2: Adyen Onboarding Portal
The merchant completes the second phase on Adyen’s secure onboarding site. All sections listed below are completed directly by the merchant.

Banking Details
• Bank account country/region
• Verification method:
• Via mobile banking app or site (powered by Trustly), or
• Upload of a recent bank statement
Final Agreement & Digital Signature
• Review Adyen Terms & Conditions
• Download copy as PDF
• Confirm acceptance by checking “I have read and I accept”
• Select signer and click “Sign”
