📊 Activity Page Overview (Beta): Unified Portal

The Activity page lets you search, filter, and review every transaction and transaction event across your stores in one place. It's in beta and will replace the Payments tab.

Heads up: Activity is in beta right now, so you'll see a Beta tag next to it in the menu. It's available to use today and will eventually replace the Payments tab, so it's a great time to get familiar with it. You might notice small changes as we keep improving it.

Accessing the Activity Page

From the left-hand navigation menu, select Activity. You'll land on a view of all your transactions for the last 7 days.

Using the Filters

The Filters section at the top of the page lets you narrow things down to just the transactions you care about. You can stack as many filters as you like, and each one you apply shows up as a small tag under the search bar. Click the x on a tag to remove that filter, or click Reset Filters to start fresh.

Date Range

Pick the timeframe you want to review. By default it shows the last 7 days.

Stores

View activity for all of your stores or pick one or more specific stores. Really handy when you're reconciling by location.

Source

Filter by where the transaction came from:

  • In person for card present transactions on a terminal

  • Online for ecommerce, card on file, and MOTO (mail order / telephone order) transactions

Status

Filter by where the transaction currently stands. Here's what each status means:

  • Authorised means the card issuer approved the payment but the funds haven't been captured yet

  • Captured means the funds have been captured and are on their way to settlement

  • Refused means the payment was declined

  • Partially Refunded means part of the payment was refunded to the customer

  • Refunded means the full payment was refunded

  • Cancelled means the authorisation was voided before it was captured

  • Expired means the authorisation wasn't captured in time and lapsed

  • Dispute Opened means the cardholder or their bank has raised a dispute

  • Chargeback means the funds were pulled back because of a dispute

  • Chargeback Reversed means the dispute was resolved in your favor and the funds were returned

  • Second Chargeback means the cardholder's bank disputed the transaction again after it was reversed

Event and Event Detail

Every transaction is made up of one or more events, like the original authorisation, a capture, a refund, or a chargeback. These two filters let you find transactions by what's happened to them.

Start by choosing an Event group:

  • Payments

  • Refunds

  • Disputes & Fraud

  • Cancellations & Expiry

  • Refusals

Once you've picked a group, Event Detail unlocks so you can get more specific. For example, if you pick Disputes & Fraud, you can narrow it to just Chargeback, Second Chargeback, Chargeback/Reversal, Notification Of Chargeback, or Notification Of Fraud. Leave it on All in group to see everything in that group.

Payment Method

Narrow results by payment type, like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, ACH, and any other methods you accept.

Search

Already know what you're looking for? Use the search bar to find a transaction by PSP reference, terminal ID, store, or reason. You'll need to type at least 2 characters before results come back.

Reading the Summary Cards

Right under the filters you'll see a row of totals for whatever you've filtered to. These update automatically every time you change a filter, so they're a quick way to get a pulse on a store or a date range without adding anything up yourself.

  • Transactions is the total number of transactions

  • Authorised is how many were approved

  • Refused is how many were declined

  • Success Rate is the percentage that were approved

  • Refunded is how many were refunded

  • Chargebacks is how many received a chargeback

Viewing Your Transactions

Below the summary cards is the list of transactions that match your filters. Each row shows:

  • Transaction ID

  • Date (UTC)

  • Customer

  • Store

  • Amount

  • Card or payment method

  • Status

  • Source, like POS, ECommerce, Card On File, or Moto

  • Events, which is the number of events on that transaction

A couple things to keep in mind. Dates and times are shown in UTC, not your local time zone, so a late evening transaction might show up with the next day's date. And if the customer column shows N/A, that just means no cardholder name was passed with the payment, which is really common for in person transactions.

You can change how many rows show per page at the bottom of the list.

Viewing Transaction Details

Click any transaction to open its details in a panel on the right side of the screen. Here's what you'll find in there:

  • Basic Details shows the store, processor reference, merchant reference, and merchant account

  • Status Details shows the current status, how the customer paid (shopper interaction), whether 3DS authentication was used, whether it was a recurring payment, and how many events it has

  • Payment Details shows the payment method, the country of the card issuer, and the acquirer

  • Financial Details shows the transaction amount and currency

  • Timeline walks you through every event on the transaction in order, with the date, time, and amount of each one

  • Payment Account Records (PAR) and Balance Platform Records (BPAR) show how the money has moved on the back end as it settles to your account

Don't worry if the PAR and BPAR tables say No rows on a recent transaction. Those fill in as the transaction moves through settlement, so it's normal for them to be empty for a little while.

Taking Action on a Transaction

Depending on the status, you'll see action buttons at the top of the details panel. For example, an Authorised transaction that hasn't been captured yet will show a Void button so you can cancel it before the funds are taken. If you don't see a button, that action isn't available for that transaction's current status.
